How to Set Your Goals the Right Way to Guarantee Success in 2023 !!

Your every goal should have meaning behind to take consistent action to achieve that goal. It's that simple. I myself posted images of Rolls Royce & Big Fancy Home on my Vision Board which didn't meant anything to me, so was not motivated to act everyday which lead me to self-doubts & low confidence.

Setting meaningful goals will give you clarity, a direction of where you want to take your life. If you don't set meaningful goals for yourself then you just bounce from one thing to another without actually achieving anything that makes you happy.

By simply setting goals, visualizing them & taking consistent action you not only become great, but you also inspire others to change their lives as well, be it your wife, your husband, your children, your parents & your friends. Isn't that great ??

Clarify Your Vision of Your Ideal Life :

To get from where you are to where you want to be, you have to know 2 things - where you are & where you want to get to and why.

Your vision is a detailed description of where you want to get to. It describes in detail what your destination looks like & feels like.

To create a balanced & successful life, your vision needs to include the following 7 areas:

  1. work & career
  2. finances
  3. recreation & free time
  4. health & fitness
  5. relationships
  6. personal goals
  7. contribution to the larger community.

At this stage in the journey, it is not necessary to know exactly how you are going to get there. All that is important is that you figure out where there is. If you get clear on the what, the how will be taken care of.

How to Set Goals the Right Way :

A SMART goal pulls on a popular system in business management. That’s because it ensures the goal you’ve set is both realistic and achievable. It can also be used as a reference to guide you through your action plan.

By establishing a SMART goal, you can begin brainstorming the steps, tasks, and tools you’ll need to make your actions effective.

  • Specific: You need to have specific ideas about what you want to accomplish. To get started, answer the “W” questions: who, what, where, when, and why.
  • Measurable: To ensure you’re meeting the goal, establish tangible metrics to measure your progress and identify how you’ll collect the data.
  • Attainable: Think about the tools or skills needed to reach your goal. If you don’t possess them, figure out how to attain them.
  • Relevant: Why does the goal matter to you? Does it align with your other goals? These types of questions can help you determine the goal’s true objective and whether it’s worth pursuing.
  • Time-bound: Whether it’s a daily, weekly, or monthly target, deadlines can motivate us to take action sooner than later.

Not Picking the Right Goal :

If you don’t choose the right goals you’ll end up becoming frustrated due to a lack of progress or lack the enthusiasm to stay motivated.

You’re picking the wrong type of goals if they are:

  • Not in line with your life goals.
  • Aren’t motivating or inspiring.
  • Too big and overwhelming.

Pick a goal that you could see yourself striving for every day. You won’t have any trouble staying motivated when you’re inspired and your goals have a sense of purpose.

How Can a Vision-Board Help You :

Take Help of Whiteboard to Set Goals :

  • If you really want to know how to create an action plan for goals, it’s time to get your dreams out of your head and onto your whiteboard. Research has found that you’re 42% more likely to achieve your goal if it’s written down.

When you physically write down a goal, you’re accessing the left side of the brain, which is the literal, logical side. As a result, this communicates to your brain that this is something you seriously want to do.

Key Points to Remember :

  • Trying to achieve too many things at once will lead to confusion and burnout. Stick with what’s most important to you. Stick to your goals and follow the small steps to achievement for what’s best for you.

  • Goals have power. Even if you have no idea how you’re going to achieve them, you know what you want to achieve, and this sets you up to find a way.
